Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation

Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation (RITE) is a usability testing method that allows for quick fixes between test participants. It was used to test the tutorial for Age of Empires II. Issues found were addressed after each participant, and the changed interface was tested with subsequent users. This approach found and fixed many usability problems. Over 90% of issues were addressed with RITE. Age of Empires II received excellent reviews and sales, which were attributed in part to the effective tutorial developed using RITE.
