I am part of the TAG quarter finalist, and this is the project that I made. My project is a feeding program , it was all about health and nutrition. Hope you like it.
2. When I and my classmate went to their house to do a school
project, I saw how many were the street children in their area
was. It made me wonder, do these street children get to eat
three full meals a day? Or do they even eat anything healthy or
nutritious? So I insisted to do a feeding program.
3. The goal of my project was to raise awareness about how
important health is and how important it is to eat nutritious food.
I wanted these children to know the importance of health and
that they should take good care of it.
4. To achieve my goal of teaching these
children the importance of health and
that they need to eat nutritious food
every day, I organized a feeding
program together with my friend, living
in Gatchalian 2, on Friday which was
November 9, 2012 and did the project
on the following day, Saturday,
November 10, 2012. Together we
gathered the children and fed them
pancakes and juice. It didn’t cost us
much because the pancakes were from
me that was given to my family by our
relatives from Canada, we don’t like to
eat them as much so instead of putting
it to waste we cooked it and fed it to the
children. All in all we fed approximately
36 children. It turned out good because
many came even though some were
shy at first but we tried to convince them
and it worked. Now I would like to do it
every now and then whenever we have
spare time.
5. 1. I planned the feeding program after I saw
the street children all over the place of my
classmate.
2. My classmate and I planned and bought
the materials needed on a Friday and
agreed to do the project on a Saturday.
3. We gathered and organized the children
and made them line-up and then go to the
empty lot across the house of my classmate
after they were already given pancakes and
juice.
4. While they were eating we taught them how
important health was and how they should
take good care of it.
5. All in all 36 children came and luckily we had
enough to feed them all.
6. As a result 36 children came and we educated them on how important health is
and how important is it to eat nutritious was. I cooked enough pancakes, enough
that some even had second servings. It was a great experience; it was very
heartwarming to do this activity. After we fed the kids they also helped us cleaned
up the place and put back everything in its place. I hope that I can do this kind of
activity every now and then especially that Christmas time is so close. I just hope
that I have lots of spare time to do this activity. Now I am grateful because I now
know that these children know the importance of eating nutritious and healthy
food and how to take good care of one’s health.
