QUALITY IS BUILDING PRODUCTS THAT FUNCTION
       AS EXPECTED, AT MINIMUM COST.

The main problem with quality control is that there normally are more
than one business units within organizations, & each unit has many
variables that not only effect the specific business unit, but also have
an impact on the other business units.

QUALITY IS BUILDING PRODUCTS THAT FUNCTION AS
           EXPECTED, AT MINIMUM COST
The main problem with quality control is that there normally are more than one business units
within organizations, & each unit has many variables that not only effect the specific business unit,
but also have an impact on the other business units.

This is why organizations need to study the products, materials, processes, procedures,….. all that
have an impact on the finished good.

Complexity of the analysis can be overwhelming, but the analysis &
identification of “practical” solutions that work for each specific
application/operation as well as the entire organization is possible.

PEOPLE & THEIR CULTURE MATTER
Businesses are Making Profits for People & People are Making Businesses
                                  Profitable

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
Book Review From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_and_the_Art_of_Motorcycle_Maintenance

…..., the book details two types of personalities:

those who are interested mostly in gestalts (romantic viewpoints, such as Zen, focused on being "In
the moment", and not on rational analysis), and

those who seek to know the details, understand the inner workings, and master the mechanics
(classic viewpoints with application of rational analysis, vis-a-vis motorcycle maintenance) and so on.

Ancient Greek philosophy in Athens, romantically depicted by Raphael……………….
He makes a thorough case that originally the Greeks did not distinguish between "Quality" and
"Truth" – they were one and the same – and that the divorce was, in fact, artificial (though needed at
the time) and is now a source of much frustration and unhappiness in the world, particularly overall
dissatisfaction with modern life.

……………….... Pirsig seeks to demonstrate that rationality and Zen-like "being in the moment"
can harmoniously coexist. He suggests such a combination of rationality and romanticism can
potentially bring a higher quality of life.

                                                        4 All Rights Reserved © Volpe M. Pakzad August 24, 2011
QUALITY IS BUILDING PRODUCTS THAT FUNCTION AS
            EXPECTED, AT MINIMUM COST
What: Need to clearly & thoroughly determine the “expected quality”.

When: Quality expectations must be determined “during concept design”, then “carried/followed
through the product lifecycle”.

Where: Every input into a system.

Why: Every input into a system, can & will have an effect of the quality of the system output.
You cannot stop paying for rush delivery TO CUT COST, if without it, you could delay an operation
that ends up delaying others; The cost of wasted labor will be reflected onto the cost of built
products. If the input has no effect on product, then it should not be there at all.

How: Program management & project management that understands & follows product life cycle
management as it should be, without cutting corners or taking short cuts; Unless there is a
contingency built for the risks being taken; This means a realistic risk evaluation & management.
                                                   Design

PEOPLE & THEIR CULTURE MATTER
Having Expenditures Over The Planned Budget, Are Signs Of Having
                        Concealed Tasks

Thorough evaluation of a business or business unit requires Cross
Functional Skills, Clear and Open communication in order to
understand how elements interact, and change the overall output.
