The document discusses how people often exhibit combinations of the six process themes or scripts in Transactional Analysis. Some people's behaviors are dominated by one script, while others combine two scripts. For example, someone with an "Almost" script type 2 may also demonstrate traits of the "Until" script. The document provides an example of someone whose scripts combine "Until" and "Never," leading to the unspoken belief that they can never rest or have fun. It suggests other common combined scripts and encourages analyzing the underlying beliefs that result.

3. Combination of process themes
We all show six of the
process script patterns. But
for most of us, one of the
pattern is prominent.
Jonathan shows mainly until
script, Martha clearly lives
out the Always pattern and
so on.
4. Combination of process themes
Some people combine two
of the patterns. Usually one
of these will be the main
one, with the second one
also important. For instance,
people with Almost type 2
may also show the Until
pattern.
5. Combination of process themes
This is true of Janet in our
example. Her unspoken
motto is : “I cant rest until I
have made it to the top. And
I never really make it to the
top, because there is always
an even higher top
somewhere. Therefore, I can
never rest.”
6. Combination of process themes
A person who combines the
Until and Never script will
follow the belief: “ I cant
have fun until I have finished
my work. But I never finish
my work. Therefore, I can
never have fun.”Other
frequent combinations are
After plus Almost type 1 and
Always plus Never. You may
care to work out the scripty
mottoes that go with each.
