The literal meaning of mooshiwake arimasen is "there isn't any room
for excuse." By saying this phrase, the speaker is technically
admitting one's fault for something. In more formal situations, we use
gozaimasen ("doesn't exist") rather than arimasen. Gozaimasen is a
humble form of arimasen.
