FROM THE NINE-HOLERS
Will she ever stop? Mary Monzo’s golf season gets better
and better. At this point her push-pin visual shows only one
bogie on the 15th
hole, - the rest are pars, and of course, last
month’s reported hole-in-one. Keep your fingers crossed
that she will nail the 5th
soon.
While we are tooting our own horn, give a “shout-out” to
Mary McNamara for her third “blue” birdie of the season.
Mary also placed second in the Toy Cup.
Cindy McGoldrick had a first place finish in the T & F
format play on September 8th
. Congratulations to all suc-
cessful ladies.
The 9-Hole Member/Guest on 9/13/16, piloted by Ellen
Lordi, showed some 9 Holer credits. Joan Soltis won the
longest drive competition on hole #3, and her guest, Anne-
marie Signore, who was once a WVCC 9-Holer, achieved
“closest to the pin” on hole #9, and longest drive on hole #6.
It was a successful outing. The complete list of winners
appears in the “From the Women’s Tee” column.
The Wednesday, September 28th last Nine and Dine of 2016
resulted in the following awards:
1st place net Cindy Torres, Patricia Christie,
Sheila Gorman
2nd place net Eileen Apostolico, Meg Gates,
Susan O’Connor, Madelyn Pontari
Looking ahead, check our last competition on Tuesday/
Saturday, October 11th/15th when the challenge is a “better
ball of partners” format.
The season finishes with the Turkey Bowl
Closing event and dinner on Wednesday,
October 26th
. Before 2016 fades into the sunset,
make an effort to… BE THERE !

FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
Now that things have settled down with kids back in school
and summer shore visits over, we have a variety of events
providing numerous opportunities to bring family and friends
for great food, beverage and camaraderie. Take your pick
from the events listed below and give us a call with your
reservation.
TGIF SOCIAL HOUR
Friday, October 14th
Discounted appetizers (all priced at $7.00 or less) and
fabulous specialty drinks are the trademark of the Social
Hour. This has become one of our most popular evenings, so
stop by for some fun and make plans to stay after for dinner
in the Thomas Grille.
BYOB NIGHT
Friday, October 28th
Another of our most popular evenings, BYOB offers the
opportunity to experience a delicious dinner pared with a
bottle of wine from your own collection !
HALLOWEEN CHILDREN’S PARTY
Sunday, October 30th
With Halloween on the following night, WVCC’s party for
the kids will be a great preview to the Trick or Treat on the
31st
. We are planning to make this year’s event bigger and
better with an assortment of games and full schedule of
activities. The festivities will begin with crafts at 4:30 pm
and the parade beginning at 5:15. Please make sure that the
kids are dressed warmly enough if the temperature is chilly.
Following the parade, a buffet for both the children and
adults will be served in the ballroom. The staff and I always
look forward to transforming the ballroom into a Halloween
funhouse. With this being one of the largest events of the
year, it is important that your reservations are made in
advance.
VINOS IN THE VALLEY
Friday, November 11th
What better way to enjoy a beautiful Fall evening at the club.
Taste an array of wines from numerous vendors, which you
may purchase to stock up your cellar for the holidays. We
will also have dinner stations with sumptuous fare to
complement the wines. Weather permitting, this event will
be held outdoors. Come by to enjoy the crisp weather and
some great wine and food. Reservations are required for
this event.
JOE’S STONE CRAB NIGHT
Friday, November 18th
With the stone crab season underway, this is a phenomenal
dinner to attend. Flown in that morning, the crabmeat is
super fresh and deliciously sweet, particularly with the
accompanying mustard sauce. In addition to the unlimited
crabs, you can also enjoy a complementary buffet featuring
Joe’s famous cole slaw, a full salad bar and a delicious
assortment of desserts including Joe’s key lime pie. The cost
will be $65.00 per person. As this night is always popular, a
deadline of Sunday, November 13th
is necessary to allow
us to place the order for enough crabs.
THANKSGIVING TAKEOUT
Thursday, November 27th
Let us do all the dirty work and make the mess in the
kitchen. As we have done for the past several years, we
will provide a take-out menu for Thanksgiving so that
you can get your entire Turkey Day dinner or just an
assortment of the accompaniments, from yams to mashed
potatoes to cranberry relish to apple or pumpkin pies.
This way, if you are entertaining the family at your own
home or traveling, we can help you. Pick-ups can be
made on Wednesday afternoon and evening or Thursday
morning. Look for more information in next month’s
Valley Views and through e-mails to see the take-out
menu.
It’s not too early to begin thinking about hosting your
corporate or family Christmas party. We have dates
available for your holiday party, whether it be small (20-
50 people) or large (as many as 275 people), we will
tailor the menu to your needs and budget for lunch or
dinner. If you are interested in reserving a date, please
don’t wait. Contact Food & Beverage Manager, Chris
Mingos 215-233-3901 (ext. 216) to arrange a great
function for you and your guests.
And speaking of Christmas, mark your calendar for our
two most popular events of the year (one for adults, one
for children), the Christmas Ball on Saturday,
December 10 th
and Brunch with Santa Brunch on
Sunday, December 18th
. Please call the Front Desk for
your reservations as early as possible as these events fill
quickly.
As you can see, we have an event for everyone, from the
smallest child to the most senior adult. Make sure you
take full advantage of what we have to offer - I guarantee
that you will have a great time. The staff and I look
forward to seeing you throughout these next few weeks
and beyond.

September was a busy month! In

against Green Valley.
Two sets of lessons began.
A group of beginners is

perienced players.
In outside play, Joan Bernard and
Rosemond Guttroff were 2nd and
6th at Philadelphia Country Club,
while Joan and Geri Mooney
were 5th at Philadelphia Cricket.
We look forward to Deb's stu-
dents joining the casual play eve-

  • 4. 4 FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER Now that things have settled down with kids back in school and summer shore visits over, we have a variety of events providing numerous opportunities to bring family and friends for great food, beverage and camaraderie. Take your pick from the events listed below and give us a call with your reservation. TGIF SOCIAL HOUR Friday, October 14th Discounted appetizers (all priced at $7.00 or less) and fabulous specialty drinks are the trademark of the Social Hour. This has become one of our most popular evenings, so stop by for some fun and make plans to stay after for dinner in the Thomas Grille. BYOB NIGHT Friday, October 28th Another of our most popular evenings, BYOB offers the opportunity to experience a delicious dinner pared with a bottle of wine from your own collection ! HALLOWEEN CHILDREN’S PARTY Sunday, October 30th With Halloween on the following night, WVCC’s party for the kids will be a great preview to the Trick or Treat on the 31st . We are planning to make this year’s event bigger and better with an assortment of games and full schedule of activities. The festivities will begin with crafts at 4:30 pm and the parade beginning at 5:15. Please make sure that the kids are dressed warmly enough if the temperature is chilly. Following the parade, a buffet for both the children and adults will be served in the ballroom. The staff and I always look forward to transforming the ballroom into a Halloween funhouse. With this being one of the largest events of the year, it is important that your reservations are made in advance. VINOS IN THE VALLEY Friday, November 11th What better way to enjoy a beautiful Fall evening at the club. Taste an array of wines from numerous vendors, which you may purchase to stock up your cellar for the holidays. We will also have dinner stations with sumptuous fare to complement the wines. Weather permitting, this event will be held outdoors. Come by to enjoy the crisp weather and some great wine and food. Reservations are required for this event. JOE’S STONE CRAB NIGHT Friday, November 18th With the stone crab season underway, this is a phenomenal dinner to attend. Flown in that morning, the crabmeat is super fresh and deliciously sweet, particularly with the accompanying mustard sauce. In addition to the unlimited crabs, you can also enjoy a complementary buffet featuring Joe’s famous cole slaw, a full salad bar and a delicious assortment of desserts including Joe’s key lime pie. The cost will be $65.00 per person. As this night is always popular, a deadline of Sunday, November 13th is necessary to allow us to place the order for enough crabs. THANKSGIVING TAKEOUT Thursday, November 27th Let us do all the dirty work and make the mess in the kitchen. As we have done for the past several years, we will provide a take-out menu for Thanksgiving so that you can get your entire Turkey Day dinner or just an assortment of the accompaniments, from yams to mashed potatoes to cranberry relish to apple or pumpkin pies. This way, if you are entertaining the family at your own home or traveling, we can help you. Pick-ups can be made on Wednesday afternoon and evening or Thursday morning. Look for more information in next month’s Valley Views and through e-mails to see the take-out menu. It’s not too early to begin thinking about hosting your corporate or family Christmas party. We have dates available for your holiday party, whether it be small (20- 50 people) or large (as many as 275 people), we will tailor the menu to your needs and budget for lunch or dinner. If you are interested in reserving a date, please don’t wait. Contact Food & Beverage Manager, Chris Mingos 215-233-3901 (ext. 216) to arrange a great function for you and your guests. And speaking of Christmas, mark your calendar for our two most popular events of the year (one for adults, one for children), the Christmas Ball on Saturday, December 10 th and Brunch with Santa Brunch on Sunday, December 18th . Please call the Front Desk for your reservations as early as possible as these events fill quickly. As you can see, we have an event for everyone, from the smallest child to the most senior adult. Make sure you take full advantage of what we have to offer - I guarantee that you will have a great time. The staff and I look forward to seeing you throughout these next few weeks and beyond.
