4. 800 MHz Refarming, to expand broadband coverage
On 10 September 2014 Minister of Communication and Information Technology has
stipulated decree of 800 MHz band based on the consultation with the operators.
Smartfren and Bakrie Tel are allowed to use CDMA and/or LTE in Band 5 (824-835 MHz//869-
880 MHz) and Telkom and Indosat are allowed to use EGSM/HSPA/LTE in Band 8 (880-890
MHz //925-935 MHz).

To resolve “spectrum crunch“ of increasingly
significant traffic of mobile broadband, three
solutions are provided:
• Additional Spectrum Bandwidth
• Increase Efficiency of Spectrum with the use of
technology upgrade with the latest technology
• Increasing number of tower site

opex of Mobile Broadband
