Why Migrate to Sakai 2.8?
• Sakai 2.6 branch will officially be unsupported
  when 2.8 comes out.
• Sakai 2.7 had performance issues.
• Timing for Summer deployment:
  • Week of Memorial Day, no class
  • Summer: less enrollment means better chance of
    detecting and fixing issues before Fall.

• Auto-save functionality to save student work in
  an assessment every 10-20 seconds to reduce
  the chance of lost work

• Option available to send
  email notification to students
  once a grade has been
  released
• Link to portfolio Matrices tool
  (tagging feature)

• New feature lets users check quota use for any
  site

  • 3. Why Migrate to Sakai 2.8? • Sakai 2.6 branch will officially be unsupported when 2.8 comes out. • Sakai 2.7 had performance issues. • Timing for Summer deployment: • Week of Memorial Day, no class • Summer: less enrollment means better chance of detecting and fixing issues before Fall.

  • 7. Forums • Creates a Forum and a Topic by default when adding the tool • Email notifications • Option to “Mark Thread as Read”
  • 8. Tests & Quizzes • Auto-save functionality to save student work in an assessment every 10-20 seconds to reduce the chance of lost work
  • 9. Assignments • Option available to send email notification to students once a grade has been released • Link to portfolio Matrices tool (tagging feature)
  • 10. Resources • New feature lets users check quota use for any site
  • 12. Grades to UDSIS • We are working on a web form • Expected mid-May • We’ll need your help to test it out!
