Scientists have identified synergistic cellular pathways for
longevity that amplify lifespan fivefold in C. elegans, a
nematode worm used as a model in aging research.
“The increase in lifespan would be the
equivalent of a human living for 400 or 500
years, according to one of the scientists.”

The Ultra-Rich Are Investing in Companies
Trying To Reverse Aging. Is It Going To Work?
In 2013, Google formed aging research company
Calico. Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison has donated
hundreds of millions of dollars to aging research, The
New Yorker reported.
There are a slew of other companies tackling aging,
including BioAge, BioViva, The Longevity Fund, AgeX
and the Methuselah Foundation.
“Whenever you meet a fundamental human need,
there’s a market,” said Michael West, a gerontologist
and CEO of AgeX Therapeutics. “And in this case, the
market for age-related disease and aging is a trillion
dollar market.”

Can We Reprogram Aging In The Body?
The Future of Age Reversal?
Dr. Mike West’s Comments about this Research
The supercentenarian study showed what we already expected, which is that
the aging of cells (of any age), is completely reprogrammable.
Our goal is to make ReCyte-1 a source of reprogramming exosomes.
We would collect the exosomes carrying reprogramming RNA, and release
them in the body, to transiently express telomerase to restore cell lifespan,
and reprogramming factors to reverse the developmental clock.
The goal is to induce the natural regenerative potential our tissues have early
in life, that is, to induce tissue regeneration (iTR).

What is Epigenetic Age?
“Epigenetics” refers to external modifications that occur in gene
expression as a result of what we do to our bodies, as opposed to
the genetic code we are born with.
Ingesting overcooked food or inhaling
cigarette smoke causes deleterious
epigenetic changes to DNA.
Vitamin D and omega-3s induce
beneficial epigenetic effects.
Examples:
DNA methylation controls the
transcription (activation) of genes.
Without proper DNAmethylation,
beneficial genes are deactivated while
harmful genes can be over-expressed.
DNA Methylation measures Epigenetic Age
Young plasma treatment more than halved epigenetic ages.
This is the principal of what is called
“epigenetic aging.”

The Burden is Eventually Unbearable
Senescent cell’s turnover in 5 days in 3-month-old
mice but take 25 days in 22-month-old mice. This
model predicts a vicious cycle where senescent
cells accumulate faster and are degraded slower.
"Our results suggest that treatments that
remove senescent cells can have a double
benefit: an immediate benefit from a
reduced senescent cell load, and a longer-term
benefit from increased senescent cell removal."
At the point of 30% senescent cell load animals
often appear to reach a tipping point resulting in
death.

  • 49. Dr. Mike West’s Comments about this Research The supercentenarian study showed what we already expected, which is that the aging of cells (of any age), is completely reprogrammable. Our goal is to make ReCyte-1 a source of reprogramming exosomes. We would collect the exosomes carrying reprogramming RNA, and release them in the body, to transiently express telomerase to restore cell lifespan, and reprogramming factors to reverse the developmental clock. The goal is to induce the natural regenerative potential our tissues have early in life, that is, to induce tissue regeneration (iTR). Email from Mike West, Ph.D. to Bill Faloon on August 12, 2020

  • 52. What is Epigenetic Age? “Epigenetics” refers to external modifications that occur in gene expression as a result of what we do to our bodies, as opposed to the genetic code we are born with. Ingesting overcooked food or inhaling cigarette smoke causes deleterious epigenetic changes to DNA. Vitamin D and omega-3s induce beneficial epigenetic effects. Examples:
  • 53. DNA methylation controls the transcription (activation) of genes. Without proper DNAmethylation, beneficial genes are deactivated while harmful genes can be over-expressed. DNA Methylation measures Epigenetic Age Young plasma treatment more than halved epigenetic ages. This is the principal of what is called “epigenetic aging.”
