These are 2 of the most
important monuments of
Aguilas and his history.

The restoration of the monument,
means the final recovery and with its
valuable place, it will create one of
the best exaqmplesa of culture offered
by the town.
The actual castle was built in 1756 in
the kingdom of Fernando VI according
to a plan of the Turkish and
Barbarian piracy attacks witch
destroyed the coast during these times.
The fortress consits of three clearly
separed structures: the fortificacion of
San Juan, situated to the west with a
central courtyard, a terrace for thre
artillery, a first floor with rooms for
housing and a kitchen as well as a
basement for the store, the
ammunition depot and the dungeon.

staircase.
A climb to
the top will
be rewarded
by a

panoramic
view of the
town and its
surroundings.
Access is easy by away of a
recently contructed footpath;
