Thomas Jefferson was born in Virginia in 1743 and died in 1826. He attended the College of William and Mary where he studied mathematics, philosophy, and metaphysics. Jefferson had a career as a statesman, planter, lawyer, and architect. He served as the 3rd US President from 1801-1809 and authored the Declaration of Independence.
