Why I chose to research HP I chose to research HP because it is a big company that has been around for a long time. It has also been seen in a lot of areas around the school building.
About HP HP was founded in 1939 by two Stanford university classmates by the name of Bill Hewlet and Dave Packard.
HP’s first product was an audio oscillator. Walt Disney bought eight oscillators to develop sound for the movie fantasia.
Bill Hewlet served the army from 1941 to 1947. While bill was gone Dave ran the company
In 1951 HP invents the524A high-speed frequency counter. This greatly reduced the time required to measure high frequencies. In 1942 construction began for the first HP-owned building.
HP goes global in 1959 with a manufacturing plant in Germany. HP introduces its first computer in 1966
HP introduces its first desktop scientific calculator in 1968. Dave Packard is appointed u.s deputy secretary of defense in 1969.
HP introduces the first calculator to print Japanese characters in 1973. HP introduces its first minicomputer based on 4k dynamic random access memory in 1974.
HP introduces the first touch screen PC in 1983. HP invents thinkjet printing in 1984. In 2004 HP had 150,00 employees and a revenue of $80 billion.
