1. We are looking for hard working, enthusiastic individuals to become part our Team. We are seeking experienced
Alarm Technicians with experience in installation or service and preventive maintenance on commercial and
residential security products including intrusion systems, access control and CCTV systems or equivalent work
related experience in the voice/data or security industry.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, customer service, oral & written
communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with hand tools and various power tools.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Exhibits professional appearance and conduct to give a professional image to the customer & the
general public.
• A clean criminal background and motor vehicle record.
• Assist in the pulling of copper and coaxial cable in backbone, horizontal & riser environments.
• Feed cables through roof spaces and cavity walls, and position & terminate cables, wires & strappings.
• Assist in the termination of security alarm devices and cameras.
• Assist in the service of low voltage devices including security & fire alarm systems, intercom & CCTV.
• Assist in the service of low-voltage wire solutions for Audio & Video.
• Assist in the service and power-up of electronic audio & video systems.
• Maintain vehicle inventory and vehicle maintenance.
• Assemble, erect, position and label all items of equipment.
• Test equipment and diagnose faults.
• Make connections to telephone lines for alarm monitoring.
• Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and complete appropriate documentation.
• Be responsible for assigned tools, plant and test equipment.
• Develop and keep good relations with clients.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Identify and prepare pathways and supports for new cabling system installations.
• Pull copper and coaxial cable in backbone, horizontal and riser environments.
• Terminate security alarm devices and cameras. Read blueprints and identify cabling pathways.
• Abide by building code standards and safety standards; and test copper cable installations.
• Communicate with Technicians, Managers and other co-workers about project status; communicate with
customers about project progress.
• Provide training for new installation technicians when proficient in all of the above duties.
• Qualified candidates should have a minimum of one to two years of troubleshooting experience performing
similar installation duties, preferably in business security, cable TV, telephone service, home improvement
industries, low voltage: structured wiring, electrician apprentice, satellite installation and/or CCTV
installation.
