These two pictures represent a tracking shot
which was shown in the first few seconds of
The Amazing Spiderman.

It started with the camera being slightly
closed up to the little boy (Peter Parker) then
the camera tracked on from left to right while
zooming a little outwards allowing the viewer to
see the overall setting of the environment in a
much more open way.

Once the tracking shot was coming to an end it
slowly faded into the correct camera position
which the bottom picture shows.
This picture shows an Over The Shoulder
Shot. This shot helps to establish the
position of Peter Parker and also helps the
viewer get the feel of looking at Peter
from another Point Of View.

The reason this shot is shown is because it
helps give an idea of what Peter is looking
which is a pair of shoes under the curtain
while also seeing a part of him.

This shot is a Medium Close Up shot and is
used to show Peter’s face more closely
without getting too close.

This shot is used to show Peter’s emotion
which seems to be a quite shocked emotion
to what he has just seen once he had
opened the door.
This shot is a close up shot of the spider
in the movie.
The reason why a close up shot was used in
this part of the movie was to present that
Peter’s father was some kind of scientist
who worked with spiders, therefore having
a close up of a spider itself would help
emphasise that.

This shot shows a high angle shot of Peter,
Peters Mum and Peter’s Dad.

The reason why a high angle shot was
shown is to represent that the family is in
some kind of danger/trouble making them
less powerful or less significant.
This shows a Medium Close Up Shot of
Peter once again, however in a different
style.

This shot shows a Medium Close Up Shot
of Peter through the reflection of the
window, which portrays that he has lost
someone from his life.

This shows a Two Shot of Peter and the
girl he is speaking to in the scene.

This shot is used to represent that
Peter’s conversation with the girl is
coming to an end and he is ready to walk
 away.
The first few seconds of the movie show a very
dark lighting scene, which gives the viewer a
sense of something's wrong or something bad is
going to occur.

From this picture you can see the setting of the
house is a very dark and old looking house, with
the dark brown stairs and also the old fashioned
carpet on the stairs.
This shows the room Peter Parker goes in has
been trashed or burgled, with papers scattered
everywhere, which portrays that someone living in
Peter’s house most likely his Father is some kind
of Scientist because of all the paperwork and the
Blackboard.

This shows the whole scene change due to the boy
Peter Parker no longer in the scene however the
teen Peter Parker is not the character. Also the
environment has changed from a old fashioned
house to a High School.
(CLICK ON THE VIDEO TO HEAR SOUND)
This part of the sound was heard straight
away when the movie began and was Non-
 Diegetic Sound.
It takes a dramatic change when the music
is upbeat in introduction of the film, but
then changes to a slow paced type of sound
which you would normally hear in some
 horror movies.

(CLICK ON THE VIDEO TO HEAR SOUND)
This part of the sound was heard when Peter
noticed that his Dad’s office had been
broken into and was also Non-Diegetic Sound.
The music changed from the scary type of
music to an upbeat “car chase” kind of
music, trying to identify the viewer
something bad had happened.
(CLICK ON THE VIDEO TO HEAR SOUND)
This part of the sound was heard straight when Peter’s Dad was leaving
him, but then the scene changed from Peter as a boy, to Peter as a teen.
The sound heard was both Diegetic from when the characters were
speaking, but also Non-Diegetic from the music in the background being played
once the character had changed to the teen Peter.
In the opening sequence of The
Amazing Spiderman, there was no
significant editing effects which took
place.
However there was one main edit
effect that took place. This was a
graphic match mixed with an opacity
decrease transition.
The first clip showed the reflection
of the boy Peter Parker in the window
and than the effects took place and
changed to the reflection of the teen
Peter Parker through a school notice
board.
