The goal of the proposal is to help a non-profit organization, that rely on donations and volunteers, to increase donations and engage volunteers by using game mechanics and gamification.
2. The goal of this material is to create a
Gamification proposal to help a non-profit
organization on its activities.
I selected the “Lar dos Velhinhos de
Campinas”, and here is my proposal.
3. The LVC (Home for Elderly of Campinas) is an non-profit
organization that cares for more than 150 elderly. It is a national
reference in care to the needy and the second largest institution in
Brazil.
As a non-profit organization, they rely on donations and
volunteers, and the objective of this material is to suggest ways to
increase donations and engage volunteers.

4. With this gamification plan, we target to increase the
number of volunteers on the Sunday Dance. The interns
of LVC have a special dance day every Sunday, and we
want to add more people and fun on it.
Also, we will make an action to improve the number of
participants and donors at the “Hug Old Friends”
Dinner, that happens once a year.
5. We will have a Dance Competition not based on skills, but mainly related to grace and
simpathy.
Musical groups and dance academies will be invited and featured on our Social Media channels.
The musical groups will perform on a Sunday, and dancers from academies will teach
elderly, will only dance with them, or interact with the people at the LVC. The group and
academy with more participations at the end of the year (they will receive points on each
Sunday) will be added on LVC Hall of Fame, and also be invited to the annual Dinner Party. A
key component is that bringing public to watch and interact with elderly will add extra points
to the music group or dance academy.
For each reference on the Twitter or Facebook made by the participants, extra points will also
be added. The idea is to promote the buzz about the competition.
It will be a blast!
6. Since this is a refined Dinner for wealthy people, we suggest the guests bringing items for a
small auction or even the LVC bazar. The more items the person brings, the more points he or
she will get and the name of the winner will be announced at the end of the event. His or her
name will also be featured on all Social Media channels, as well as the Hall of Fame. With this
action, we hope to increase the number of people willing to go to the dinner.
As for the donors, mainly local corporations, we will sum points for any initiative related to
LVC. The points associated with the Dinner will be doubled, as well as the donors will receive a
certain number of invitations to give to their friends or employees. The number is proportional
to the current punctuation.
How good a company will be for its employees by giving them a special invitation for a refined
charity dinner?
How good it will be announcing that your company is at LVC Hall of Fame?
7. It will be necessary to implement a ponctuation system, with
leaderboard, and a special area at LVC website for the Hall of Fame.
The leaderboard is not necessary for the Dinner, as only the winner will be
announced.
Social Media channels (Facebook and Twitter) must follow all actions, as
well as the website.
Extra people may be needed to handle the Sunday Dance competition.
