I am a librarian by qualification, but I’ve never held a post as a “librarian”. In my 8.5 years at The Open University’s Library Services I have managed the multimedia collection, set up and run a staff development facility around technology enhanced learning, managed a couple of projects, commissioned rich media about the library and helped to redevelop the library’s website. In 2005 I was tasked with investigating several aspects of educational technology and how they might impact on library services.
