1. My name is Maura Minix and I grew up in Prestonsburg, KY which is in
Eastern Kentucky. I attended Prestonsburg High School where I was on
the Dance Team for four years and also played on the soccer team for
two years. My senior year of high school I volunteered at the local
hospital pharmacy in Prestonsburg and I loved it. This is when I
discovered what I wanted to do with my life; become a pharmacist. I
decided to go to the University of Kentucky to pursue this career.
2. My good friend, Lindsay
There are many people in my life who are important to me
and have helped me become the young woman that I am
today. These people are members of my family and close
friends. They constantly believe in me and help me with
anything I ever need.
My sister: Kaitlyn, my brother: McKinley, my
mother: Brenda, and my father: Maurice
3. I am a senior at the University of Kentucky and
will graduate in May 2012 with a bachelor’s
degree in Human Nutrition.
7. Pharmacy
I have been accepted to Midway College School
of Pharmacy in Paintsville, KY and will begin
school there in the Fall of 2012. The program
lasts four years.
8. After I complete Pharmacy School I plan to pursue a
career in retail pharmacy. I will probably look for a job
around the Paintsville, Prestonsburg, or Pikeville
areas. Paintsville is a neighboring town to my
hometown of Prestonsburg.
9. I hope to get a job at Rite Aid or a hospital pharmacy.
Rite Aid is the only large pharmacy chain around my
hometown.
