     NICHOLS COLLEGE
   BUSINESS AND SOCIETY
         MNGT 100
Introduction

 The person who I interviewed was Mathew Nunn.
 His company is called “Johnson and Nunn Masonary
  Co.”
 I know of this person because he is my roommates
  brother.
Entrepreneur’s Company

 His type of business structure is a duel partnership.
 It’s a service. It is a landscaping company.
 They have been in business for approximately three
 years.
Background Business

 The company got started by his friend getting him
into it. His friend had landscaping degrees.
 They financed their purchase of the business by
  getting a bank loan.
 They started the business to make money and to be
  successful.
Successes

 Some of their success is due to having a lot of loyal
  customers.
 Also they have good customer service. If a customer
complains about something not working that they
did, the business will fix whatever it is, for no charge.
 The rewarding aspect of running the business is
knowing that you made it, being successful and
having respect among other landscaping businesses.
Challenges

 Some of the challenges have been first getting started
into the business. For example, getting all the paper
work together to start off and to have the ok.
 Also getting good connections and getting good
  prices was a factor.
Competition

 There are competitors around the area but he said
that he isn’t that worried about them. The business
has grown and gotten big within a couple years.
They are now one of the bigger landscaping
  businesses.
 They achieve a competitive advantage by having
good prices, completing jobs on time, doing good
work and not ripping customers off.
Marketing/Staffing

 They don’t market their business.
 They get to be known by having customers and other
businesses talking about their work and how they are
  good.
 When looking to hirer new employees, they look for
hardworking men/women, who are loyal and
  responsible workers.
The future

 This company does plan to stay in business for the
  extended future.
 Their plans/goals are to keep expanding and to
  become a well known business.
Unique Questions

 I did not have any unique questions to ask this
 individual.
Summary

 Advice that the owner has, is to keep working hard
and to never give up. If you have dream or idea, go
for it. You cannot achieve in something until you go
 for the gold.
