Signal Processing Everywhere
 Organisms and devices communicate, naturally or
intentionally, through “signals”
Speech, seismic vibrations, cell signaling, camera image, temperature,….
 A “Receiver” processes the “signal” for quality improvement,
analysis and understanding, activation, storage, transmission,
control ...
Filtering, source localization, gene expression, compression, error control
coding, feedback.…
 Signals and signal processing are ubiquitous, whether or not
we recognize them as such, and fundamental to the
operations of systems.
