- Thanks for your time today. We're excited to be here to talk about three things: The top cloud trends and challenges How Rackspace solves those challenges for you And why Rackspace is the best partner for you
- As we talk to thousands of customers, we hear many of the same pain points. Businesses want all these things right away. Speed - how can we get to market faster? Efficiency - how can we be more cost effective? Innovation - how can we be part of the next big thing? Automation - how can we make it happen in milliseconds? Security - how do we avoid a breach? Analysis - how can we make best use of all of our data? DISCOVERY: Which of these pain points are you experiencing? How are you approaching them? What are your top priorities to address? This conversation naturally leads to the question — should we outsource?
- In a recent survey of our customers, we found that they're planning to continue to outsource many workloads in the next three years. For example, they plan to outsource 17% more of their CRM workloads in the next three years, on top of what is already in outsourced. [CLICK]
- These workloads are going to public cloud, managed private cloud and dedicated hosting. DISCOVERY: What workloads are you looking to outsource? These workloads are moving to more than one cloud.
- That's because it's a multi-cloud world. A recent survey showed on average, a business today uses 6 different clouds — 3 in production and 3 in testing. Why multiple clouds? Because different workloads run best on different types of clouds. DISCOVERY: How many clouds do you run? For what apps and workloads? Who manages those clouds? Internal? System integrator? Consultant? Other provider?
- At the same time, expertise is extremely hard to find. In the same survey "lack of resources and expertise" is their top challenge in the cloud — even surpassing "security" for the first time.
