This slide contains five key features of the SugarCRM deduplication module, DeDupit. DeDupit helps to improve the data quality of SugarCRM by removing entries that contain the same data. DeDupit gives you the option to remove duplicates manually, or automatically.

Editor's Notes
DeDupit works to ensure that SugarCRM is free of duplicate entries. This is done by creating a deduplication process in the module of your choosing. During this process you can choose to remove detected duplicates manually or automatically.
When running a deduplication process, you have the option to eliminate your duplicates automatically. When duplicates are detected, DeDupit removes them from Sugar, merging the records based on the rules that you set.
When DeDupit searches for duplicates, it does so by determining if the fields for different entries have the same data. DeDupit allows you to use any field name to determine if different entries have similar data, providing you with an unlimited number of rules to determine if you have duplicate records in a module.
When you run a deduplication process with DeDupit, you can select any module in SugarCRM to search for duplicates. This ensures the highest possible data quality for your CRM.
With DeDupit, the process to manually remove duplicates from SugarCRM is made simple. After DeDupit searches a module for duplicates, a list of potential duplicate entries are compiled. When you enter this list, you have the option to either select 'Merge,' which will merge the entries based on the rules you created during your deduplication process, or you can choose 'Ignore' which will leave both entries. Entries that are ignored will not appear as duplicates again.
When you create a deduplication process, DeDupit gives you the ability to determine which record will remain, or “win,” if it is found to have a duplicate. You can choose the winning record by selecting if you want the winning record to be the 'First In' or 'Last In,' meaning the first record to be entered, or the last record to be entered. You also have the option of selecting if the date for the entry is determined by when it was created or when it was last modified.
