They should be switched to silent at all times and must not be answered during class. 2. Students must come to class with the necessary study materials/equipment e.g. paper, pens, calculators, reference notes. 3. Standards of behaviour in the classroom should be such that all students can study without disruption. Failure to adhere to the classroom regulations may render the student subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the College rules and regulations. Course Aims: The main objective of this course is to provide future aeronautical engineers with the means of analyzing and designing various load bearing structures. Students will learn to analyze a system of forces and obtain the reactions at the supports of structures; then, the students will be introduced to the analysis of forces in plain trusses. The students later, will be introduced to the nature of stress and strain, and the properties of cross sections, finally, the students will be introduced to the forces and stresses in members subject to axial, torsion, and bending loading.
