Sebastian Krumhausen is a design engineer student at the Danish Technical University. This portfolio showcases projects from his studies, including public playground equipment, redesigning a disability vehicle, designing an electric razor for Smeg, and modeling a cell phone using CAD software. The portfolio is intended to serve as a visual resume demonstrating his engineering design abilities.
2. About
This printed portfolio is a collection of my finalized
projects at the design engineer education at the Dan-
ish Technical University. The portfolio serves as a visu-
al resume created to show my abilities in engineering
design. The projects and my blog about design and
technology can be found at krumhausen.dk
Many of the projects were produced in groups. The
portfolio is created in Adobe InDesign.

4. The project on the first semester of the design engineer
bachelor dealt with user oriented design. The assigment
was to develope a new public playground equipment to
be used in the municipality of Copenhagen. A solution was
identified and developed based on a group of potential us-
ers. Three concepts were generated based on realized user
requirements collected though fieldwork. A final solution
was developed and its mechanical and material problemat-
ics analyzed. The final solution can be found on the right
side. Below are the concepts that did not make it.

5. In the second semester the project
work was about redesigning an
existing product, in our case the
Trilet. We did a broadly-based multi-
dimensional analyses of the prod-
uct. Within a limited time frame we
managed to derived to a reasonable
result based on the analysis.
The course gave the fundamental
principles in order to understand
machines and product design such
as functionality, structure, manufac-
turing process as well as the socio-
technical context the products is a
part of ( e.g. users, usage, manu-
facturers, environment, competitive
condition, etc).

Java based movie theatre booking system. The program
enables users to book specific seats in a theatre. The
program takes full advantages of OOP - Object-Oriented

The program is build according to MVC, the Model–view–
controller software design pattern. The graphic and logi-
cal part of the program are kept separate. This approach
enables changes in the graphics without interfering with
the core functions.
