Introduction
The Last of the Mohicans, by James Fenimore
Cooper, is an excellent lace in America in the 18th
century. This fascinating book is about Uncas, one of
the last members of the great Indian tribe, The
Mohicans, who with a small group of brave men,
escort two sisters, Alice and Cora Munro, to their
father at Fort William Henry.
Main Body
The adventure begins when Alice and Cora leave
Fort Edward to visit their father, Colonel Munro.
The two sisters are escorted through the dark and
dangerous forest by Major Duncan Heyward and led
by an Indian named Magua.. While travelling, the
group meets a white man, Hawkeye and his two
Indian companions, Uncas and Chingachgook. Soon,
it becomes clear that Magua has betrayed the group
by leading them in the wrong direction. The men try
to capture the evil Magua but he escapes. The men
must move quickly to protect the women and
deliver them safety to their father.
The book is full of thrilling moments as the author
creates tension with unexpected twists and vivid
descriptions, It is a true classic and is beautifully
written with its exciting fights and daring attacks.
Conclusion
I thoroughly recommend The Last of the Mohicans.
Readers will have a difficult time putting this
masterpiece down as they are kept in suspense until
the very end of the book.
