Education in ancient civilizations varied depending on gender and social class. Boys typically received more formal schooling than girls and were taught skills related to their father's occupation. For wealthy families, both boys and girls could receive private tutoring to learn subjects like reading, writing, and mathematics. In modern Canada, every child receives equal access to education regardless of gender.
2. • Wealthy girls had private tutors, but normal girls
didn’t get education.
• Girls were taught to serve, (ex: cook, clean,
wash clothes, etc.)
• Schools taught writing, reading, math, and sports
as well as morals and manors. At the age of
fourteen, sons of farmers or craftsmen joined
their dads in their jobs.
3. • At the age of four boys education was
taken over by the fathers.
• Because of all the trading that ancient
Egypt did the children that were boys help
their father with trading.
• If you were wealthy then you could expect
good education and a good life.
4. • Girls were taught how to cook, raise
children, clean, and surprisingly make
clothes.
• Girls usually did all of the house-work.
• Education was usually taught by the
parents.
5. • Your job was most likely to be the job your father
had, for example if your Dad was a farmer then
you would be taught to be a farmer.
• Your education as a boy would be depending on
whatever your dad’s job was.
• If your dad was a farmer then you would be
educated on the points of working the farm and
being a farmer.
6. • Girls got 4 years less of high school than boys
did.
• Girls were taught to cook clean, etc.
• Girls didn’t get educated at school, but many
learned to read and write at home in their
courtyard.
7. • Boys were usually taught by their mothers or a
personal slave.
• Boys were usually taught by a private school or a
primary school.
• Boys’ teachers were usually men who got to
choose the subject.
8. • The rich girls got education.
• The “normal” girls couldn’t afford education.
• Many people both rich and normal got some sort
of education in reading and writing.
9. • For boys who always got things wrong, some
schools had a policy of having students held
down by two slaves while his tutor beat him with
a leather whip.
• Boys education was sometimes at their own
houses.
10. • In Modern Canada every child boy or girl will get
the same amount of education.
• In Canada girls and boys have rights and
freedoms so Canada is more fair.
• Most schools are public but some are private.
• Girls usually get to choose their own job.
11. • In Modern Canada every child boy or girl will get
the same amount of education.
• Boys also get a fair amount of education.
• Both girls and boys get even education.
• Boys usually get to choose their own job.
