2. Crack Magazine This is crack magazine. I really like the layout of this magazine. The
reason I like this magazine is because they don’t do too much for
their front page, its very simple yet it stands out. On the magazine
with ‘ Fatima ‘ I like the way there is text written on her picture in
the middle. I feel like this is what drew me in because this is the first
time I’ve seen something like this where the text is on the picture,
this does no disrupt the picture also. I feel like because there is very
minimal text on the front page this simplicity draws in the reader.
One thing I did notice about Crack magazine is that all of their pages
have a theme and who the magazine will be focusing on or what story is
most important that person will be casted to be on the front page. The
magazine cover with ‘ Lil Yatchy ‘ has again effects added on and the
reader would only focus on their photography or the edits. This
magazine has again no text only his name again is on the right corner.
This represents that this magazine is more about their photography as it
is very simple but stands out and this is a continuous routine for all of
their magazine covers. This magazine production also have a
blog/website where you are able to access other categories, such as
music, art, fashion, news and an opinions section. The colour scheme in
this magazine also bought me in as the colours all contrast with each
other there is no sharp or colours that stand out the colour scheme is
very mellow. E.g. the white text stands out on her skin tone as all tones
are mellow.

3. RWD Magazine (rewind)
This is rewind magazine or RWD, this is also one of favourite magazines
so far. I like the fact that through each season their magazines have a
certain type set out for each magazine, i.e each magazine has this same
banner and font, but before it was different. But this is it most of the
time I like the fact it has not changed and is their logo which people
recognize them by. I also like the fact they are similar to ‘ crack ‘
magazine and have a minimal text on the front page. I think because of
this the photography is brought into main focus and this is their aim. I
also like that their backgrounds are either back or white which I feel like
is their main colour scheme, as it is portrayed in their logo banner. I also
feel like red is also included in their theme as the names of people or the
comments under their name are in red. The magazines also have the
issue and the number of magazines they have released which has also
become part of their logo and identity.

This magazine was introduced by one of my teachers. This has
to be the most unique magazine I have come across. This is
magazine has one logo and it is the ‘ i-d ‘, this has 2 meanings I
think this Is a shorter meaning of identity and the front page
and the person the front page brings their identity through the
magazine as this magazine has a different people who are able
to express their clothing. If you notice through series of their
front pages each one is different I think this is to bring out the
persons identity through their style of fashion which leads into
the meaning of the meaning of magazine. I also noticed
everyone who has model for this magazine has one eye closed
like it is a wink, if you notice the ‘ i-d’ logo it looks like a smile
with a wink, the person modelling is also portraying their
identity as well as the logo. I feel like this is very smart as they
portray two meanings at once.
I have also noticed they do not have a colour scheme, it is really
random e.g. these 2 magazines have an orange and the magazine with
Channel Iman has 2 colours red and pink, these colours have nothing to
do with the actual picture. But it all ties in, this is a contrast to the
other magazines as they have a colour theme and a theme in general.
The colours match and have contrast. But this magazine is random this
ties in with the ‘ identity ‘ of the magazine itself.

5. Fader Magazine

The fader has to be the magazine that is quite big and well known. This is magazine
showcases different artists from many countries, this here I have shown artists from
the UK, Jamaica, America. The UK artist is also a grime artist a music genre that is now
being noticed as a whole genre and not underground. Stormzy is a grime artist who is
really blowing up from the UK. He is on the fader front page for last month. The fader
also have a specific logo which would be the ‘ F ‘ in bold with a white or black outline
this creates a stand out effect. The fader show cases a verity of styles as you can see
through these magazines but where their text and title is located does not change
through out all of their magazines these magazines again have little to no texts on
their magazines, again this is about their photography. This is a magazine that is very
active they have a website a blog and an app where all of this accesses able for iPhone.
I also like this magazine and their use of colours as they match the person who is on
the front cover their magazines also look extremely professional and the quality is very
high. The covers some how represent the person that is on the front cover. The fader
also use this effect where they put their title/logo Is behind the picture this gives an
illation of the picture coming to life and having an 3D effect. All the letters are also in
upper case this bring more effect to the magazine as it seems bold and kind of is in
your face, which I presume is the main aim, so their magazines are noticed as much as
possible.
