evil movie. This would draw more attention to the magazine and to horror movie genre.
The text in the magazine is in San Serif, making it easier to read and showing that it is
mainly a working class type of movie and that it is easy to follow. The text on the magazine
also follows the convention and names the actor.
The costumes used in the shot is connoting that he is from the past or that the movie was
set in the past, making it more interesting and sticking to the stereotypes of a vampire
movie.

The image used is of Hellboy, with him in a pose that looks like he is ready to fight, making him
seem intimidating and violent, drawing the readers for a horror movie in even more. The use of
fire on the Empire masthead also gives it more depth, letting the reader see that it is a hellish
scene and that the movie is a horror
The typography used is all in San Serif, showing you that the magazine and movie is based
more towards the working class and lower middle class than towards the higher classes. The
language used is also showing you who the magazine is based at as it is simple and easy to
read.
The layout of the magazine is conventional as it follows the route of the eye, this makes it flow
well and helps it all seem to merge together, feeling and looking more natural to people that
are looking, enticing them to buy it more

This is a good example of a poor magazine cover that is not conventional.
The image in this magazine cover is of the well known actress Megan Fox is a short skirt and
acting sexual, this would draw the male audience into the magazine but they will not know what for.
The inly indication that it is a horror movie is the bloody hand against the wall and some blood on
the floor. Although this shows that it is a horror movie it is poorly placed and can not been seen
very well.
There is also no text that tells you the name of the image or the name of the actress, so if
someone did not know who she was there would be no incentive to read the magazine. The only
mention of the movie is in a small sized font to the right of Megan, making it nearly impossible to
locate.
The layout of the magazine also reinforces the fact that it is a poor example. It has no real
structure and is very cluttered, making it hard to look at and less appealing to the eye. The lack of
space and the huge amounts of text would denture readers from picking up the magazine.
