Kids play video games. For all of those adult who do not, it may be difficult to understand the value in play games beyond improving hand-eye coordination. In this presentation I explore the value of video games beyond their basic entertainment value. I believe that understanding how and why video games engage our students is knowledge that can be directly transferred to the classroom and to motivating our learners. From gamertalk to increased productivity, meaningful failure to communal affinity, it's time we embrace why video games matter.
