4. What do you (or your business) do?
As general manager, CEO and Create Australia founder, I am responsible for overseeing our
ongoing efforts to stimulate the substantial international growth of the lost money refund
industry through training and diploma-level programs.

It has been close to 20 years since Create Australia first introduced the concept that eventually
evolved into the thriving lost money refund industry that now exists throughout Australia, New

agencies across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the United States, China, and Europe
6. How do you stay successful in your industry?
We have never been afraid of change and have always been deeply committed to evolving and
adapting based on any emerging trends we recognize, and we actually got our start as a lost
money refund agency. After developing a pioneering business model that helped us become the
market leaders in our industry, we felt that we could accomplish so much more for consumers by
shifting our focus to the creation of a cutting-edge training program intended for aspiring
professionals as well as lost money refund agencies.
7. Have you traveled around Australia?
Yes, I have been all over the country and have worked hand-in-hand with professionals in
Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney — among countless others as well.
What part of Australia?
I’ve visited just about every part of the country, both for professional and personal reasons.
What is your favorite restaurant to visit while in Australia?
Most of my time is spent in the Sydney area of New South Wales, and since I am particularly fond
of French fusion cuisine, “est.” is my personal favorite.
8. Have you traveled around Australia?
What is something someone must-do when in Australia?
I think it is important for every visitor to make an effort to connect with Australia’s natural
wonders, especially the Great Barrier Reef and Mackenzie Falls.
Would you come back?
Although I love traveling and sailing often, I would be quite content if I never left Australia.
Was it a business or pleasure trip?
I’ve traveled throughout Australia for both business and pleasure, and I have yet to have a truly
negative experience in any part of the country.
9. What has travel taught you that you have
applied in both your personal and business life?
I’ve learned that there is a lot that can be learned through nothing more than observation, but
there are many great lessons that are the product of conversations, even if it is only a brief,
casual discussion. I often document my travels on my Myriam Borg twitter or Myriam Borg
Facebook accounts as the trips offer great reflection opportunities. It is through travel that I have
also learned the importance of keeping an open mind and being receptive to new ideas and
insights.
