2. INTRODUCTION
 Visual communication is a method of
expressing ideas in the form of pictures, graphs
or other visual aids
 It is a language which is composed of pictures
 On the path of intellectual communication the
magic of motion has always been attractive for
human and helped him a better communication

 Nowadays, the art of animation is considered as
a powerful means of communication
 For more effective communication a new tool
called motion graphics has been introduced in
the field of visual communication
 John Withney, the well-known animator coined
the term in 1960

 Movement is a principal characteristic of human life
 Different movements were considered as influential
factors in the process of communication
 Human beings have always tried to animate their
pictures to convey their messages to the audience
Eg. Lascaux cave in France

 Motion graphics or moving graphics is created
by video or animation technology and also by
making a hallucination of movement or
changing the appearance of visual factors
 When used in multimedia projects, motion
graphics is usually accompanied by sound

7. METHODS OF MOTION GRAPHICS IN THE
FORMATION OF COMMUNICATIONS
 Different methods of motion graphics are
adopted based on:
 Type of message and its audience
 The taste of the motion graphic
designer
 The conditions under which the work is
going to be produced

8. 1. FLASH ANIMATION AS AN ANIMATION
METHOD
 File extension is .swf
 Need their own special player to be played
 Simple in production and file size is small
 Used by producers of 2D motion graphic and
internet advertisements

 Flash animation saves the vector information
instead of saving the pictures and while playing
draws this information according to the time
table designed by the animator
 For pre-recorded shows, rendered frames are
transferred into other formats or media like
movie or digital image

11. 2.FLAT, A 2 DIMENSION METHOD
 2D motions are a group of images made by computer
which includes 2D models like geometric figures, text
and digital images
 Here, a definite number of pictures are played one
after the other with a definite speed
 File extension is .gif
 Huge size and has capability of unlimited colors
 Used in Reciprocating Short Motion in web pages

 To produce 2D animation, separate images and
separate transparent layers are used
 Then, hands, eyes, mouth, clothes and other
elements are moved by the animator in the key
frames
 The difference in appearance of the key frames
are identified by the computer in the process of
morphing

 At the end, the animation is rendered
 Key frames and the intermediate
frames play important roles in the
production of 2D animation

14. 3. VIRTUAL 3D ANIMATION
 Brain has the ability to integrate 2 images received
from 2 eyes and to overlap them in order to identify
the depth of the environment
 In 3D animation, a 3D environment is simulated in the
brain by showing 2 simultaneous images to each eye
 For that, the producer records the particular 3D image
from 2 view points and plays it

 By using a special device which is able to show
these 2 pictures separately for each eye, the
audience is able to watch the picture in a
completely 3D manner (Taylor 1996)

 The innovative art of photo montage is able to
realize many of the impossible wishes of human
by placing a couple of pictures besides each
other or by using computer software
 Creativity can be the shortcut to human wishes

 Music helps feelings be well expressed; really
enlivens a dead work
 In a motion graphic work in which sound is more
attractive, the audience will focus on the sound
3.Alphabetical characters in motion graphics
 In the realm of motion graphics, alphabetical
characters are considered as images
 These are more seeable than readable

 Eg. Nastaliq calligraphy has gentleness and
passionate impressive tranquility which are the
characteristics of curves in graphics
 Aesthetic aspects are given the primary priority
4.Color in motion graphics
 In the context of motion graphics, color and paying
attention to color are more important

 The visual simulators enter into sensing
memory and are saved there for about one
second
 The capacity of this storage space is about 16
objects
 So, the objects enter the sensing memory and
immediately disappear

20. CONCLUSION…
 Generally in motion graphics, visual elements like
line, dot, surface etc are mixed with visual ideas
such as rhythm, emphasis and contrast, then
combined with sound and motion and finally, by
passing through the mind of the designer, they
will be presented to the audience and create an
influential performance

 The presence of motion and sound as the
effective elements in the process of influencing
the audience’ minds ends in better
communication of the audience with work and
conveys more complex concepts and meanings
in simpler format
