PHILOSOPHIES OF MARKETING MANAGEMENT
-What is marketing management? 
-What is marketing? 
 Marketing management refers to a business 
discipline which focuses on the practical 
relevance of a marketing system and the 
management of a firm's marketing assets and 
activities. 
 Marketing is the management process 
responsible for identifying, anticipating and 
satisfying customers’ required profitably.
Production concept focuses on efficiency of internal operations. 
Product concept focuses on improving the quality, performance and innovative features of 
products. 
Selling concept holds onto the idea of using aggressive techniques for overcoming customer 
resistance and large scale selling & promotion. 
Marketing concept puts emphasis on provision of customer satisfaction in relation to their 
needs and wants. 
Societal marketing concept focuses on improving the well being of customers and the society 
as a whole.
