switch2osm.org is a website where you can find some useful information how you can switch your maps and other “geothings” to OpenStreetMap. Openstreemap is an amazing collaborative Project where everybody can contribute by collecting geographical data to share (open data) useful to create the free map of the world (and any other object based on geodata).
The project, in addition to data and maps, has created a series of open source tools able to manage the entire chain for the creation of maps (data collection, cleaning, representation, analysis …).
The flexibility, the data updating and the openstreemap community have become of interest to more and more companies (eg Apple, Facebook and Microsoft).
The presentation , through use cases and success stories, will explain the reasons for which to switch (and collaborate) to Openstreemap and some technological solutions to publish a map based on openstreemap data.
