2. My friends – they're easily accessible, modern
stylish look. Stylish grunge clothes like oversized
tops and ‘skinny’ jeans.
I believe my friends have quite distinguishable
looks and this would fit with a Rock band’s or
artists’ image.
I will organise my actors in a way that reflects
modern artists with confident postures. Direct eye
contact with the lens is usually made with the lead
singer and I will rein act this. Other members
seemingly are engaged in something else which is
a factor to consider.
3. Within the local area there are many areas with
different features I can utilize. For example;
I could use a field, under overcast in the evening, to create a dynamic background for a page in my
magazine. The dark colours would blend with my colour scheme and manipulation of the image would
further blend it. This concentration to detail would surely be appreciated by my target audience.
My (a teenager’s) bedroom is a perfect place for a photography for my magazine as my target
audience are teenagers. Teenagers are notorious for forever being in their bedroom, therefore, by
creating a similar setting, I am giving the magazine a feel of recognition and the audience would see
the magazine as being familiar. Also, as I plan for my models to be teenagers, a teenager’s bedroom
is fitting and the subject and setting marry together.
A site with barn ruins. This place reflects the antisocial understanding of the youth today and
youngsters may feel they are obliged to live to this idea. For this reason I choose to possibly use this
site. Also the ruins may mirror an emotional side to the reader. Teenage years are a stage where most
development happens. Not just physically, but emotionally. The ruins that could feature in one of my
images may relate to how my target audience of 12 – 19 year olds may feel; abandoned and forgotten
from society. An affect of this is a sense of companionship with the magazine and the reader or a
sense of empathy from the magazine.
4. As stated in my section regarding actors, they will
wear fashionable clothes but with a grunge take.
For example, because Rock is influenced, in some
areas, by what famous band ‘Nirvana’ wore, I could
interpret this by having one actor wear an
oversized jumper or even a cardigan where as
other actors in the same shot may wear leather,
skin tight jeans and bracelets.
Because my magazine is a monthly issue, I need
to include more than one band, meaning I need
more than one set of actors. In reality, each band
has their own style and image, to make my
magazine as realistic as possible I will aim to
execute this by giving them different styles of
costumes.
5. Props are a factor in creating a feel of authenticity
in imagery. Considering my magazine is a music,
more specifically Rock, one I need to include some
sort of instruments.
For the shot I plan on taking in a bedroom, I have
considered using an acoustic guitar. I own this
guitar and therefore do not need to acquire one. I
also have an electric guitar which I could create a
place for in one of my images.
In the institution in which I am working from, there
is a designated section for music where there are a
variety of instruments. Here I can take
photographs of more instruments for things like
advertisements in my magazine.
