PEPO
A beneficial owner is an individual person who ultimately gains from, or has control over, a given company. A beneficial owner can either be a direct shareholder in the company or have an equity holding in another entity that has ownership in the company.
For instance, take this simple example where John owns 100% of the stock in Company A. As the sole shareholder, it is clear the John owns 100% of Company A and he is therefore the sole beneficial owner. Now, imagine Company A wholly owns Company B.
Cross markets was not done before
Given Company A owns 100% of Company B, and John owns 100% of Company A, we find that John indirectly owns 100% of Company B. Or in other terms, John has 100% beneficial ownership in Company B.
