Editor's Notes
of why you shouldn’t leave your content hanging like me at my high school prom.
Ok, it was Homecoming and I was in 9th grade, but this really happened.
Very first big dance in high school. The dress, the date, the hair, the corsage, the jewelry, the heels, the pictures with friends before, the whole nine yards.
Then, within 20 minutes of arriving at the dance, my “date” is nowhere to be seen. Long story short, I hide in the bathroom during the slow songs, pretend that I’m having a good time while I feel completely foolish for even going, finally spot my “date” hanging around this other girl, and at the end of the night when we’re supposed to leave and go to my one friend’s house, he literally leaves me at the dance with no ride to get to the friend’s house. Completely stranded.
All dressed up with nowhere to go?
Spending time on developing the concept, writing, editing, writing, editing, publishing, hoping someone will read it and like it. Sharing the link on Facebook. Please someone like it. Maybe even throwing it out to your email list. Someone please read this please!
But without a compelling visual to go with it, so much of your hard work goes down the drain. You dress it all up, but then it gets left with no eyes to dance with.
Hunni, you’re not them.
Your visuals? Or someone else’s?
Are they mostly put together for you and you just change the text?
Are they branded to your business?
Maybe more details, I’ll show you where to find those at the end
