By connecting various social media
services, such as:
● Facebook
● Twitter
● Google+
● LinkedIn (and others)
Klout generates a social media influence
score.

The Terms of Service
Agreement and Privacy
Policy of Klout.

5. In order to use Klout, you must agree to the
Terms of Service and, by extension, the Privacy
Policy.
This means that you agree to the following:
● You are responsible for all content that is uploaded,
shared or used by Klout to generate your score.
● You are responsible for checking that the terms of
service haven't changed since you signed up.
● You agree to connect with a social media account
(like Facebook or Twitter).
● That Klout can change the Terms without notice.

6. In order to use Klout, you must agree to the
Terms of Service and, by extension, the Privacy
Policy.
This means that you agree to the following:
● That any accounts you link to Klout give Klout
access to all the data on that account, including
the non-public data.
● That if you don't want to use the service, you
have to opt-out.
● That you might have a profile, even if you haven't
signed up.

Terms of Service and, by extension, the Privacy
Policy.
This means that you agree to the following:
● That you will not breach any copyright, privacy
laws, transmit any viruses, spam or scam or
harass users, send violent or offensive material,
or post any objectionable material.
● That you will not interrupt the service, or create a
fake profile, solicit information from minors.

8. In order to use Klout, you must agree to the
Terms of Service and, by extension, the Privacy
Policy.
This means that you agree to the following:
● That you will not collect email addresses,
advertise, sell, buy, or give instructions for illegal
activities through Klout.
● That businesses who use Klout to offer Perks to
users have a different set of terms to agree to.
● That Klout can start charging for the service,
without notice.

9. In order to use Klout, you must agree to the
Terms of Service and, by extension, the Privacy
Policy.
This means that you agree to the following:
● That if you use a mobile to access the service, Klout
is not responsible for any charges your provider may
charge for that.
● That Klout is not responsible for any damages
resulting from you using the service.
● That Klout is not responsible for any damages
resulting from using third party services.
● That Klout can change how your score is calculated.

They can also sell the data they have
gathered about you to anyone they please.
They say the data will be aggregated, but
they can also change this, if they want...
And not tell you.

And there's one priceless pearl of
information in the Terms of Service:

● (I) the service will meet your requirements,
● (II) the service will be uninterrupted, timely,
secure, or error-free,
● (III) the results that may be obtained from the use
of the service will be accurate or reliable, or
● (IV) the quality of any Perks, products, services,
information, or other material purchased or
obtained by you through the service will meet
your expectations.”

So...

16. Not only are you solely responsible for
everything on and through Klout, but they
admit that Klout may not even work the
way you expect it to from what they have
told you.
It may not be a true idea of what your
social influence is.
The things you get through it may not be
what you think they will be, and that's not
their problem!

Don't like it?
● If you've signed up, you need to log in and
then delete your account, but it may take
some time for your data to be deleted.
● If you haven't signed up, you need to head
to their Terms of Service to opt-out of the
service.

18. And what if they decide they don't
like you?
Klout can delete your account whenever they
please without telling you.
They can decided what is “objectionable content”.
They can decided if you have violated the letter
or “spirit” of the Terms of Service.
If they suspect you've been fraudulent, abusive or
engaged in illegal activity, they can delete your
account.
