Republic Act 4867 brought into
existence the Province of Davao del
Norte
Later on 30 January 1998, President
Fidel V. Ramos signed Republic Act
No. 8470 creating the Province of
Compostela Valley, another province
carved out of Davao del Norte.

Location:
North: Agusan del Sur
East: Davao Oriental
West: Bukidnon
South: Davao del Sur and Davao Gulf
Geographic and Topographic Profile:
Characterized by mountain ranges in western and eastern parts;
flat areas in the middle
Traversed by 32 rivers
No pronounced rainy season and the province is rarely visited by
typhoons
5. How To Get There?
By Air-Land:
Take a flight bound for Davao City. Travel
time from Manila is one hour and 40
minutes. From Cebu, there is a daily 55-
minute flight
By Sea-Land:
travel time is about three days
By Land:
via Pan-Philippine Highway passing through
Bicol, Samar and Leyte

Place: Tagum
Date: First week of March
Coincides with the city of Tagum’s founding
anniversary.
It aptly describes a celebration in the city where
Tagumeños met Tagumeños from all walks of life in

Place: Island Garden City of Samal
Date: First week of August
A thanksgiving festival celebrating bountiful harvest
which features parade, indak-indak sa dalan
(streetdancing), cultural presentation, and agri-
industrial fair.
12. Banana Festival
Date: First week of July
Celebrated in time for the founding anniversary of the province.
The festival pays tribute to the largest economic contributor and
the province’s number one export - bananas.
13. Andaon Festival
Date: First week of September
A gathering, celebration, and thanksgiving to
Tagihinit (God) for the good harvest, good health,
and good future for all the people.
