SOLUTION
RESULT
OBS delivered the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 website
over a period of ten months. The team worked closely
with Cardno to manage the expectations of stakeholders and to obtain consensus across the business
on the main structure and navigation approach of the
site, particularly with reference to service areas and the
market sectors Cardno operates in.
The new website
went live mid-2012 and
now provides Cardno with
several key benefits for its global
business.
Jackie McPhee, Corporate Marketing Manager, Cardno,
said: “The collaborative nature of SharePoint allows us
to carry out a large selection of tasks easily. The new
site is primarily managed by the marketing team but
a number of HR staff also have access to the careers
centre to post job vacancies. The IT Applications team
has access to the site for IT admin purposes. We are in
the process of rolling out the site in American English
and Colombian Spanish and have provided access to
the site to the translation contractor in the US as well
as a small number of US-based marketing staff.
“OBS demonstrated its commitment to developing a
long-term partnership with us through excellent client
service and a flexible approach to doing business. The
team demonstrated the same core values as Cardno –
“Great People”, “Passion”, “Integrity” and “Innovation”.
The fact that OBS has a significant Brisbane presence
meant we could work together as a team on the
project from Cardno’s Brisbane headquarters. OBS
really did go “above and beyond” on a number of
occasions during the project.”
The marketing team can now easily maintain
website content and set up sub-sites, ensuring the
website remains current without any additional burden
on IT resources. Cardno’s previous website required IT
assistance for the majority of content changes and
updates. The marketing team can also directly update
the newly launched home page “campaign space”
which lets it promote key messages about the
company and keeps the home page looking fresh.
The website also uses relational data to “cross-sell”
Cardno’s broad range of services and projects for
visitors to the site and offers Cardno the ability to
roll-out translated language versions of the site as it
grows and expands into new markets without the
need for additional resources.
Andy Neumann, OBS Managing Director, said: “The OBS
team found it to be a great experience working on site
at Cardno and came away feeling like they were part of
one team on this project. Working so closely with our
customers makes communication and consultation so
much easier, which is key for OBS.”
