1. 1 Oliver Hamilton, LawyerBA (Econ), MBA, LL.B My legal practice has been focused on corporate/commercial and real estate law to strategically capitalize on my thirteen years of business experience gained prior to embarking on a legal career. I offer clients technical knowledge, an analytic aptitude, and practical business acumen acquired through thirteen years working primarily in the cement, steel, power, and transportation industries as well as international trade and finance. I have worked on large, complex projects to small entrepreneurial start-ups; through which I learned the basis of successful teamwork.

2. 2/3 Oliver Hamilton, LawyerBA (Econ), MBA, LL.B Prior to practicing law, I worked in diverse roles that ranged from corporate strategy, aimed at effective use of information technology, to managing international trade and multi-modal logistics of bulk com modity supply- chains, to corporate finance. For over a decade, I also enjoyed a parallel career as a management consultant and conducted financial, marketing, and risk analyses for a variety of large and small companies. I obtained my B.A. (economics) and LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and my M.B.A. from Simon Fraser University. My graduating MBApaper, “Growth patterns of Canadian high-tech firms and Gibrat’s Law”, was published in a peer-reviewed journal in London, England. I have also qualified for the Fellow of Risk Management (FRM) designation through the Risk and Insurance Management Society and was commissioned as a Canadian Military Engineer Officer (2 Lt. Reserves) following my training.

I am uniquely positioned to provide my clients with appropriate solutions and options, having both legal and practical business perspectives. My experience and analytic background enables me to spot pitfalls and give client’s well-rounded advice that takes into account the “bigger picture”. Since being called to the British Columbia Bar, I have practiced in diverse areas of the law in addition to corporate/commercial work (commercial agreements, share/asset purchase & sales, shareholders’ agreements, corporate governance) and real estate matters (commercial/residential purchase & sales and leasing, real estate development, strata property matters) including local government issues to general commercial litigation support.
