Linux will turn 25 years old on August 25, the day Linus Torvalds sent out his
fateful message asking for help with a new opera;ng system. “I’m doing a (free) opera;ng
system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This
has been brewing since april, and is star;ng to get ready. I’d like any feedback on things
people like/dislike in minix, as my OS resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the
file-system (due to prac;cal reasons) among other things),” he wrote in the comp.os.minix
