Manganese Ore production to double: MOIL
The production of Manganese Ore India Ltd (MOIL) is expected to
double to 1 lakh tonnes a year following the inauguration of a new
vertical shaft at its Mansar mine. With the new vertical shaft, the
production from Mansar mine will double and employment opportunities
for 300 to 400 people of the area will be created.
Bajaj keen on regaining market share; 6 new launches in 6 months
Bajaj Auto is aiming to regain its lost share in the Indian two-wheeler
market with six product launches in the next six months that will include a
new 100 cc bike besides a 400 cc model under its flagship brand Pulsar.
Bajaj Auto trails behind market leader Hero MotoCorp which sold
43,40,986 units in the April-December period this fiscal but is ahead of
Honda MotorCycle and Scooter India (HMSI) that clocked 13,27,862
units in the same period.
Budget 2015: Trade unions demand hike in income tax exemption
Trade union leaders demanded an increase in income tax exemption
ceiling for salaried class to Rs 5 lakh in the upcoming Budget. They also
demanded that disinvestment in profit-making public sector units be
stopped forthwith and budgetary support should be given for revival of
potentially viable sick CPSUs.
Govt Eyes Plan B As $10-Bn Sell-off Deadline Nears
The government is scrambling to put together a 'Plan B' to raise even a
fraction of its $10 billion target from asset sales, officials said, with
potential new sales including part of its stake in refiner Indian Oil.
Pressure on the government increased with the Reserve Bank of India's
surprise move to cut interest rates, placing the onus on the government to
help revive the economy by putting public finances on a firmer footing.
