2. Psychographic profiling:
‘Radical’ is the name of my magazine,
but also describes my audience.
My audience would also consist of
Under-Achievers, Achievers, and
Carers. This would be due to the fact
that the magazine appeals to intelligent
readers interested in the subject matter,
the genre of music, and how it affects
the world around them.
3. Social Values:
The Social Values of my audience would
mainly be ‘Hedonists’ as the magazine is
focused on exploring and enjoying the
world of hip-hop. They would also
include Post-modernists who enjoy the
world as it is and enjoy reading
magazines that focus on the aspects of
society that have made the world the
way it is now – in this case, music.
4. Jicnar Scale.
My audience would consist of anyone from the lower levels to mid levels of the Jicnar scale – from E
to C1, the age range would probably range from teens to people in their mid thirties to early forties.
My magazine is not gender specific in terms of its readers. The hip-hop genre is popular with both
sexes, although most rap artists are male there is a rising number of female artists becoming involved
in the rap scene, with many female RnB artists already around.
The person on the cover of my magazine is not wearing lavish, extravagant, expensive clothing and
appears to be in casual street wear which would make the magazine more accessible for those at the
lower end of the Jicnar scale as well as teenagers who live in urban areas. However, it may mean
there is less appeal to those at the higher end of Jicnar Scale, as well as pensioners above 55 years
old.
