    Vishnugupta and Kautilya

    150 chapters, and 180 topics by Chanakya himself
   A King maker – was responsible for bringing down
    Nanda dynasty and establishing his student
    Chandragupta Maurya as Emperor.
   Arthasastra – means ‘scripture of wealth’

 v   Learn from the mistakes of others... you can't live long enough to
  make them all yourselves!!

 v    A person should not be too honest. Straight trees are cut first and
  Honest people are screwed first.




  friendship without self-interests. This is a bitter truth.


  Why am I doing it, What the results might be and Will I be successful.



  next five years, scold them. By the time they turn sixteen, treat


 v     Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful
  to a blind person.

 v    Education is the best friend. An educated person is
  respected everywhere. Education beats the Beauty and the
  Youth.

  • 4. 173 – Training - Advice -Opportunity  Being devoted to the training of the troops, he should arrange signals for the arrays by means of musical instruments, banners and flags, when halting, marching, or attacking”  (Musical instruments means inspiration; signals mean communication.)  Bill Gates answer to the question "what is your biggest success?” – “It’s yet to come”  Be alert to the next big idea that can scale up your organisation is yet to come. Learn the past-Observe present- create future

Therefore, he (the leader ) should look to the treasury first.”(2.8.1)  “He should check the accounts for each day, group of five days, fortnight, month, four months and a year “.(2.7.40)

Therefore, a king shall devote the best attention to it.”
