1. Mei Mei was a cute pumpkin. She liked reading so much.

2. One day, Mei Mei read her favorite storybook in the kitchen.
When she finished, she left the book in the kitchen because
she needed to go out to do some chores.

3. When she came back, Mei Mei saw that her book was dirty.
“What happened?”she asked herself.
Mei Mei took the book to wash it with water.

4. While she was cleaning it, her book got torn. Mei Mei took her
book to dry in the sun.

5. “Where is your book, child? Why aren’t you reading it today?”
asked her mother.

6. “I left my book in the kitchen, and when I came back, it was
dirty,” replied Mei Mei.
“Why were you so careless, dear?” said her mother.
“Sorry, Mommy,” Mei Mei said.

7. “You like reading books so much, don’t you dear?” asked Mei
Mei’s mother while helping dry the book with the kitchen’s
heat.

8. “Mei Mei, your book is dried now, dear.”
“Thank you, Mommy. Mommy, let me read you this story!”
