Vision
We are all connected, we have
different personalities, and we are
a melting pot of different cultures
all woven together like a fabric.
Understanding this will help us get
along with each other, work together
to solve problems, and search for
solutions. Having sensitivity to the world
around us will allow us to be creative
and productive. Change will happen
and it will be done in a positive way.
Mission
Helping students have passion and
vision for their work and to believe
in themselves. This will contribute
positively to the health, happiness
and well being of family, friends,
and colleagues. My mission is to help
students by fostering an environment
conducive to positive outcomes,
develop and refine conceptual
thinking and translate ideas into
visual form all the way through.
Profession
Being an educator, I take my work
and that responsibility very seriously.
I do care, I teach my students to
have passion and vision for their work
and to believe in themselves. I am
able to develop my personal and
intellectual growth, critical thinking
skills, technology and methodologies.
To be a leader, you have to be a
rebel, strike out from the nerve, the
accepted, and introduce your
method, style, and fashion. Whistler
did this in his paintings, Ravel did the
same in his music, but leaders are only
leaders if they have followers, they do
not work in isolation. In art, leadership
is different than in other fields, we
don’t want to mold students to our
own idea of what a painter or sculptor
should be, but free them to become
themselves.

director/graphic designer having worked in advertising, television,
newspaper and music industry. I speak fluent Ukrainian and work
with the Maricopa County jails, under the leadership of Joseph
M. Arpio-Sheriff. In 1996 a song I wrote Shine on Me was chosen a

Humanity, Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Children’s Hospitals, The Humane Society, Premier Commercial Bank, Hospitality
Design Concepts, Mercedes-Benz, and JCPenney. I had the pleasure of teaching workshops at different high schools, the
competencies, and the syllabus was specifically designed for teachers and students, and approved by the State board.
Schools visited: Peoria High School, West View High School, Bradshaw Mountain High School and Kingman High School.
Courses taught: Career skills and Portfolio preparation. Students are taught to problem solve, defend their work, validate
and sell their concepts to the client.
On August 16, 2007 I held my first American Advertising Federation (AAF) meeting (a prestigious national organization) for
the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), which was hosted in Tucson 2008. The client: America On-Line (AOL)
provided a creative brief, and a budget, and the entire school got involved. On August 2010 I organized and participated
in the JCPenney re-branding campaign with my students, a $100 million dollar campaign. I assumed the leadership role, as
creative director, and our goal was to win the regionals, and then the finals.
I am confident, enthusiastic and able to translate all my knowledge and experience to my students. I hope to better
prepare them for what awaits them in the real world, to also make a smooth transition for them, and for them to think
creatively and independently in solving problems with confidence. My students will be able to transform tough artistic
design challenges into workable marketing solutions. I enjoy teaching and being an educator, I take my work and that
responsibility very seriously.

DP (Displaced Person) is a powerful true story of hope and survival,
about a young girl named Evhenia who survived the most turbulent
years of WWII. Over seven million men, women and children fell
to the Genocidal Famine. This ghastly period was deliberately
planned and perpetrated by Stalin–with the specific intent of
exterminating a nation. Germany invaded the Soviet Union,
storming through the Ukraine where our story takes place. Evhenia,
caught in the middle of this turmoil, was taken from her parent’s by
German soldiers and transported by cattle-car train to a labor
camp. She endured harsh physical conditions, until liberated by
American soldiers and placed in an internment camp. There she
met a man named Nikola who aggressively, and relentlessly
pursued her. Evhenia wanted nothing to do with him, but Nikola
wasn’t giving up that easily, followed her to England and settled in
the poorest, blue-collar industrial town of northern England. Neither
of them could speak English, and had no money; she eventually
gave in to his advances, married him, and had three children, all
boys. Nikola deceived her; he was already married with children.
The story continues to show how Nikola splits up the family, takes
the two older boys, leaving the youngest boy Peter behind with
his mother to live in poverty. Fourteen years later Peter, now
twenty-one, leaves his mother to search for his estranged father
and brothers, and finds them living in America. Peter discovers his
father is a polygamist, a womanizer, and was married five times.
His older brother was drafted into the U.S. Army and sent to
Vietnam. Peter’s other brother is serving 15 years at the Ohio State
Penitentiary. The story concludes with the sad and tragic death
of Evhenia.

Community Service
For ten years I have been working with Ministry of Good News. I
have taken the leadership position as president of the ministry, and
participate in speaking engagements and fund raising in com-
munity churches, always focusing on the good news of Jesus Christ
and discipleship. Also working with Men’s Rescue Mission, and the
Changing Lives Center an outreach for women and children who
have been abused.
Fine Artist
As a painter I love to work in many mediums, acrylics, oils and
mixed media, in a variety of styles and subject matter. I love
painting on large canvases, the bigger the better. I love the texture
and the smell of paint. My paintings have been described by some
as romanticist and symbolist in style, maybe a little traditionalist, but
definitely leaning towards the romantic. Currently I am working on
a series of paintings in sepia, brownish grays to dark olive brown
colors, oil on canvas, from the thirties, forties and fifties.

Inventor
Badly designed products plague the average American’s
existence causing an inexcusable waste of time, energy, money
and raw materials. Poor design and lack of significant conserva-
tion effort has greatly contributed to the present shortages of fuel,
food, air and other natural resources. True solutions must be found
through new and better design of present and future products.
This invention addresses itself to the partial solution of such problems
as conservation of time, energy, and packaging materials
in the instant coffee and/or tea markets. This invention is called
Coffee Cubes, it relates to forming and compacting instant coffee
and/or tea, by itself or in combination with instant milk and/or sugar
into various solid geometric forms, primarily by compaction or by
chemical bonding. More precisely, this invention relates to instant
coffee and/or tea, with or without cream and/or sugar in cube,
cylindrical or other geometric form.
Another invention of mine is The Executive Entertainement Center
(TEEC), a portable luggage that is divided into several sections,
with one section designed for use as a standard carrying case
for documents and the other sections containing either one or
multiplicity of work-aid and/or entertainment instruments which
are connected to and can be cotrolled by a central control
panel which is connected to a power source and optionally,
if desired, to the speakers.

Letter of intent:
My personal and professional goal is to be the best at what I do. To date, I have enjoyed a fulfilling

28. My Statement and Philosophy of Teaching
My philosophy of teaching stems from my personal faith and professional values, my individual
contribution to student learning is the result of a collective experience shaped by my faith in God,
people and events. I believe wisdom enlarges a person’s perspective on life, and a wise person
desires to see life through God’s wisdom and teaching.
I promote the understanding of cultural diversity, and believe this will help us get along with each
other, work together to solve problems, and search for solutions. Having sensitivity to the world
around us will allow us to be creative and productive. I often share this visual imagery of a
priceless hand made rug: Just for a moment imagine yourself looking underneath this priceless
rug, what do you see? You see confusion; all the different color threads represent the different
people and cultures of the world, the threads intertwined show the complexity of this world, the
beauty of the design is only seen from above by God.
Being an educator, I take my work and responsibility very seriously. I care. I teach my students to
have passion and vision for their work, to believe in themselves. This philosophy contributes
positively to the health, happiness and well being of family, friends, and colleagues.
My mission is to help students by fostering an environment conducive to positive outcomes, to
help them develop and refine conceptual thinking and translate ideas into visual form. To share
knowledge and skills gained overtime through my own educational background, personal and
professional experience.
I work daily to develop my personal and intellectual growth, critical thinking skills, technology
and methodologies. In art, leadership is different than in other fields. My goal is not to mold
students to my own idea of what a painter or sculptor should be, but free them to become them
selves.
In being a teacher I am conscious that with every thing I do I have to be careful to model or teach
the right things because every action, word or attitude speaks louder than any lecture that I can
deliver. I believe this is as important as communicating information and facilitating learning. In
this way, we are establishing relationships, building knowledge and value bases at the same time.
Through my own faith and values, a difference is made for someone else.
Sincerely
Peter Halifax
