5. 1. Reduction on the transmission of infections

prepared, compounded, dispensed or stored.
 All drugs stored in a pharmacy shall be stored on or in shelves,
drawers or fixtures provided for that purpose.
 All waste materials shall be disposed twice a weak or more often if
necessary to maintain the sanitary condition.

7. 2. Promotion on the rational use of antibiotics
 Working with therapeutics committees including infectious
disease related subcommittees to ensure that the number
and types of antimicrobial agents available are appropriate
for the patients it served.

 Encourage multidisciplinary collaboration within the hospital to ensure that
the prophylactic, empirical and therapeutic uses of antimicrobials agents
result in optimal patient outcomes.
 Establish and operate a multidisciplinary concurrent antimicrobial
monitoring program.
 Work with the microbiology laboratory to ensure that appropriate antibiotic
susceptibility test are reported to patients on a timely manner.

 Provide clinical conference and other types of educational forums for
clinical staff on topics such as antimicrobial use and resistance,
decontaminating agents, aseptic technique and procedures and
sterilization methods.
 Educate and counsel in patients, ambulatory care patients and home
care patients.
