3. Through observation during the visit, I
have mapped out the path and frequent
routes of each family member. The
highlighted routes on the floorplan
indicates the different routes by different
members.
The living room is a common area for
all as the main source of entertainment
(television) is located there. The kitchen
is mainly use for cooking and is most
frequently used by Yurniati’s mother. The
store room is barely used as it’s funciton
is only for storage.

Yurniati has 5 people living in the household. Her mom
loves wood. After a long discussion I realize she likes oak
wood. Yurniati likes pink and princess things; at the same
time she appreciates modernism. She has a little brother
that currently sleeps in the living room.
Her family would wish to have a room for him to sleep.
Yurniati lives in the same room as her sister as they are
really close and share the same liking of modern furnitures.
Yurniati’s mother likes the classic furnitures.

The media storage unit is medium brown
and contrasts from the brick wall nicely.
The media unit has storage spaces that
can be used to store DVD players and any
other media items. The decorations and
black lamp combines the traditional and
modern style with a little metallic touch.

Rendered Prespective
This is the rendered perspective drawing
of the living room (back wall). The unique
floral patterns on the back wall is carved
from natural wood. This beautiful wooden
sculpture is then mounted on the wall. This
3D pop-out sculpture complements the
natural feeling of the home as favoured by
Yurniati’s family.
The wooden cabinet on the right of the
armchair has glass doors and wooden
interior shelvings, thereby suitable for
display items and storage.

AN AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT
There is a modern 3 seater sofa with a
hot pink armchair. The armchair is placed
on a small-rounded white carpet to avoid
unnecessarily scratches on the marble
floor. The sofa has 2 huge cushions, which
also serve as backrests for the user. This
is where the family can relax and enjoy
their entertainment with guests or family.
The coffee table is high gloss and black
in colour and requires less maintenance
because of its dark colour.

kitchen. I rendered this perspective mainly
to show the doors and wall decorations.
DESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT
The doors are made from oak wood. I have
also chosen to add 3 pendant lights to
brighten up the walkway and highlight the
wall decorative art. Mounted against the
walkway walls are 2 carved wooden frames
with nature patterns to farther emphasize
the family’s preference for nature and
wooden furnishing.

This is the rendered perspective drawing
of the kitchen area, which doubles up as
the dining area. I have chosen a medium
brown kitchen cabinet that is mounted
onto the wall. As Yurniati’s mother
spends most of her time in the kitchen
and favours the natural colour of wood, I
shall keep this traditional look of medium
brown that is consistent with the dining
table and stools.
A pendant lamp with a unique round bulb
is used to light up the kitchen and the
dining area. This pendant lamp is easy to
maintain and clean, thereby suitable for
the kitchen area.

The traditional modern bed frame and the
consistent floral quilt covers are matched
with a sliding door wardrobe. A sliding
door wardrobe was picked, instead of a
swing door wardrobe to maximize the
space in this small room. A black pendant
ceiling light will match naturally with the
black and white quilt covers. There is also
a black shaded mood light on each side of
the room.

Yurniati will be sharing this room with her
sister, therefore I have re-designed the
interior of her room to evoke a princess
yet punk atmosphere. Both of them
would like a dreamy and modern looking
interior, by incorporating a strong use of
hot pink colour and modern furniture, I
tried to design an interior that will suit
the both of them.
