- Unlike other supplies to industry. Raw material can be inspected and rejected before use.
- We cannot choose the supplier and supply. Supply path may got disturbed by others.
- Consumer have to use power irrespective of quality of supply. He can not reject and choose. Perception of quality is different for generator, TSO and Consumer. Even different fot different type of consumers. For house hold – continuity only. For IT – Pure sine, continues etc.
- Power requirement is continuous hence no interruption is desirable. Example – paper industry, steel industry process.
- Continuous deviation from nominal voltage is U/V or O/V. Very short duration in milliseconds are sags or surges. Imperfection in sinusoidal shape. Momentary change in frequency is transient.
- Excess of reactive energy causes to rise in voltage. Scarcity of reactive power causes voltage to drop. Reactive power is undesirable but necessary.
