Case Competitions:
Carlson MBA students competed in 19 intercollegiate competitions in 2013-2014, and received invitations to another six. In total, we had 23 teams made up of nearly 100 students compete. Notable achievements this year include:
-1st place at the John Molson International Case Competition
-1st place at Illinois Strategy Competition
-1st and 2nd place at the ACG Cup
-2nd place at the National Investment Banking Competition
-3rd place at the Elite 8 Brand Marketing Competition
-Total student winnings this year of $30k

In addition to leading each of the 22 clubs listed above and the hundreds of student-led events organized by those groups, Carlson MBA students each year have the opportunity to:
-Organize and lead all sponsorships, logistics, and events for the Elite 8 Brand Management Case Competition
-Lead the annual Charity Auction endeavor which has consistently raised more than $20k for local charities
-Serve as the student point person for collecting and applying orientation feedback to improving the MBA Orientation programming
-Organize and lead pre-orientation trips for incoming MBA students
-Serve as Admissions Ambassadors and Career Mentors
-Participate as leaders or MBA representatives in the University-wide Graduate and Professional Student Association
-Participate in Carlson Enterprises
-Propose and develop new programs and opportunities for MBA Students (Carlson Goes West treks, The Global Gala International student event, Pre-Orientation trips, etc).
Networking Events:
This year MBA Student Affairs and the student organizations listed above have put on nearly 100 events that have totaled over 6000 in student and significant other attendance. Some of the most popular annual events include:

-Casual Fridays Speaker Series featuring local entrepreneurs
-Sports Business Club Tailgates at every home football game
-Weekly Thursday Happy Hours (TAPS)
-Several annual Conversation lunches sponsored by the MBAA International VP
