1. “Why do I want to be a member of the NCBTMB Board of Directors?”
I would like to contribute my skills and knowledge in leadership and consensus-building to the direction
my field of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork is heading now and in the future. I am also in practice as
a Board-Certified Massage Therapist and Bodyworker. I have been a LMT for over 9 years, and teaching
yoga for over 40 years. I spent 23 years teaching here and overseas in high climbing, rigging, rescue,
OSHA compliance on high-rise buildings, radio towers, antennae. I have developed my perception and
memory skills to a very precise level, and I carry that into everything that I do.
I would like to help guide the NCBTMB to be known as the world’s leading Certification Authority in
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, for excellence in our field.
I have many years of experience and knowledge gained from those years of experience in this field and
the regulatory sphere to bring to the NCBTMB Board of Directors, including four years spent as a
member of the American National Standards Institute A-41 Committee, Manual Methods of Building
Access, and my experience on the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists Education Committee, 2011 to
present, and the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists Rules Committee, 2011 to present.
I have traveled extensively in this country and overseas to 18 countries. Most of my international travel
took place in the course of my work with the Voice of America. I have studied ten languages. I enjoy
travel, and helping others to be at their best. I have a perfect safety record, no accidents.
I am the Founder and Owner of the following LinkedIn Groups: Zen Shiatsu Therapists, Raja Yoga,
Bodyworkers International, East-West College of the Healing Arts Alumni. On Facebook, I am the

I am a strong leader and team player. I always strive to work toward consensus, so we can move
forward. I believe in preparing thoroughly before taking each step, including researching facts, and
planning carefully as far ahead as possible, with an excellent business plan. I have been in business for
myself for over 35 years. I have continued to improve every day, and I plan to do my best to help others
as I have always done my entire life.
I am 62 years young, and I would like to help as many people as possible to make the world a better
place.
